Category: Country Style Homes

With vast stretches of rural land, beautiful regional landscapes and countless country towns, rural living has always been part of the Australian way of life. There is a particular freedom that comes with building beyond the city – more space, broader horizons and the opportunity to create a home that feels completely connected to the land around it. At Custom Homes Australia, we showcase exceptional country style homes by leading builders, architects and designers, from contemporary farmhouses and grand rural residences to beautifully restored homesteads and homes on acreage.

Across Australia, country living can mean rolling farmland, vineyards, bushland, mountain ranges or a charming town where life moves at a different pace. The homes are just as varied, drawing on everything from traditional farmhouse architecture, pitched roofs and wide verandahs to bold contemporary forms, expansive glazing, stone and timber. What they share is a celebration of space, landscape and the unique possibilities of building outside our major cities, creating creating country homes that make the most of the Australian countryside and the lifestyle that comes with it.
